Biography

Yu Gao is an assistant professor in Accounting at the Opus College of Business University of St Thomas , U.S. She graduated from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago, U.S., with a Ph.D. degree in Accounting and an MBA degree in 2007. Her research interests include financial accounting, regulation, and auditing, with focus on debt markets and information intermediaries. Her papers have been presented in numerous international conferences and appear in Journal of Accounting Research, and International Review of Economics and Finance. She has reviewed papers for Journal of Accounting Research, Annuals of Finance, Psychological Bulletin, American Accounting Association Annual Meeting, American Accounting Association Financial Accounting and Reporting Section (FARS) Midyear Meeting, American Accounting Association International Accounting Section (IAS) Midyear Meeting, and Chinese Accounting Professor. Association of North America (CAPANA) Annual Meeting. She teaches financial accounting to undergraduate students and offers research seminars to Ph.D. students.

Research Interest

Research interest is in financial accounting, corporate accounting, regulations, and auditing, with focus on the debt market and debt ratings.
