Dr. Zhihong Fu received his B.E. in chemical engineering and M.S. in physical chemistry from Xiamen University (Fujian, P.R. China), and received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University (College Station, TX, U.S.A.). He has held a life-long passion for the commercial application of biotechnology and applied microbiology in order to provide enhanced consumer benefits in an environmentally-sound fashion.
His current research interests include mixed-culture biotechnology, modeling bioprocesses, bioprocessing optimization, research & development in the MixAlcoTM process, fuel ethanol production using recombinant Escherichia coli, and lignin utilization.
