Biography

Dr. Zhou Guoqing is professor at Department of Modeling, Simulation and Visualization of Old Dominion University. He has published three books, and 201 academic papers (53 journal papers). Dr. Zhou has worked on 38 projects as PI or Co-PI. During 1996-1998, he had worked on the project of MOMS 2C/2D/2P pre-flight and in-flight calibration, and HRSC pre-flight calibration in Technical University of Berlin, Germany. During his research in the Ohio State University as postdoctoral researcher, he conducted IKNONS in-flight calibration. After he worked in Old Dominion University, he conducted the research on real-time information technology for future intelligent earth observation system. He serves as Chair, editorial board, editorial advisor, editor-in-chief of several journals, and serves as Chair and Co-Chair of Working group of several international societies/organizations. He also serves as panel reviewer of NASA Space Information Program. Dr. Zhou has won seven prestigious international awards including the 1996 Alexander von Humboldt Award (Germany), the1998 Outstanding Young Author Best Paper Award (Japan), the 2000 Talbert Abrams Award (USA), the 2001 NASA-NIAC Fellow Award, and, the 2004 Outstanding Innovative Technology Teaching Award (USA), etc.
