Environmental toxicology is a multidisciplinary field of science concerned with the study of the harmful effects of various chemical, biological and physical agents on living organisms. Ecotoxicology is a subdiscipline of environmental toxicology concerned with studying the harmful effects of toxicants at the population and ecosystem levels. Rachel Carson is considered the mother of environmental toxicology, as she made it a distinct field within toxicology in 1962 with the publication of her book Silent Spring, which covered the effects of uncontrolled pesticide use. Carson's book was based extensively on a series of reports by Lucille Farrier Stickel on the ecological effects of the pesticide DDT.

Covid-19-Positive for Climate! So, Why Not We?
Journal of Environmental & Analytical Toxicology is pleased to announce Special issue on “Covid-19-Positive for Climate! So, Why Not We?”.
The worldwide pandemic has had some unexpected effects on climate change. The question is: can the world learn from it?
The coronavirus has incited a lot of change across the world these last couple months. Entire cities have shut down, trains and airfare have all but nearly stopped, public spaces are shut down, concerts cancelled, ski resorts closed. Much of life has come to a stop—as have much of the world’s output of green house gases.
If there’s something good to come from this worldwide pandemic, it might be the way Earth is given a chance to breathe a bit. Scientists have already seen how quickly the climate, and nature far and wide, is already revitalizing and recovering from human climate change damage.
With the same purpose our Journal “Journal of Environmental & Analytical Toxicology” is announcing Special issue Call for paper on “Covid-19-Positive for Climate! So, Why Not We?”. We welcome both solicited and unsolicited submissions that will contribute to this special issue.
