David Randall, Ph.D. currently serves as Executive Director of the Consumer Driven Health Care Institute based in Washington, DC. (www.cdhci.org) and is Resident Scholar with the American Research and Policy Institute in Washington. Dr. Randall has testified before both U.S. House and Senate committees of Congress on a variety of health policy issues and has extensive experience as a former top insurance regulator, legislative staff member, health care lobbyist, consultant and executive with not only insurance companies, but also with several provider trade groups in Washington. He has over two dozen peer-reviewed and professional publications as well as book chapters on health care entitlements and the policy process surrounding health care reform. His research includes study of Medicaid entitlements and privatization, Health Insurance Exchanges and health care information technology. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science (Policy Analysis and Administration) from Kent State University.

Dr. Diana – Yue Zhao Associate Professor, graduates’ supervisor Zhao Yue is currently the Associate Professor and Executive Deputy Dean of the Sino-Dutch Biomedical and Information Engineering School, Northeastern University. She mainly focuses on health and medical informatics research with a strong IT and medical industry biography. She has ever served as the former Minister of International Business, director of the president office of Neusoft Group, and the general manager of Dalian Neusoft Group, which is the No.1 national IT solution and Digital Medical Equipment Group. In 1992, she went to Japan’s Tohoku University to study. She worked at Japan’s NEC group after getting her Ph.D., and returned to China to join Neusoft Group in 2000. She has won many Shenyang municipal and Liaoning government awards, including the “Outstanding Talent Fair Team” and the “Excellent Software Professionals” awards. She has also served as the executive director of the International Friendship Association of Liaoning Provincial Government, and the director of the provincial Economic Restructuring Committee. In addition, she is also the author and translator of several best-selling books such as "The Audacity of Hope - Barack Obama’s road of President" (Chinese traditional version), “A Chance to Change – the Way Obama Changes” (Chinese traditional version), “A Report in Depth on the Financial Crisis”, “Character Determines Success”, etc

Thomas Neumuth is research group leader at the Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery at the University of Leipzig. He is heading the research group on Workflow and Knowledge Management and earned his Ph.D. at the University of Leipzig. He has published more than 40 reviewed papers and was author of ten journals and bookchapters. He has teaching experience of more than 10 years. He serves as reviewer of peer-reviewed journals in the area of process modeling, workflow management in the operating room, and surgical assist systems. He organized twelve workshops and tutorials on international conferences
Thomas Research Interests includes Process modeling and workflow management in healthcare, including clinical and diagnostic pathways and treatment decision support, knowledge management, process-based evaluation and validation of hard- and software, as well as health technology architectures and information systems in operating rooms
