Dr.Helmut Scherer (born 1955) is Professor for Communication Research at the Department of Journalism and Communication Research of the Hanover University of Music Drama, and Media since 1999 and was Director of the Department from 2002 to 2011. Before taking up this post he was Professor of Communication Research from 1997 until 1999 at the University of Augsburg. After completing studies in Communication Research, Philosophy and German at Mainz University in 1984 he took a position at the Research Institute in Allensbach in the Media Research Department. Since 1985 he worked as research assistant at the Department of Mass Communication and Politics at the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg where he also successfully completed his Ph.D in 1989 as well as his Habilitation in 1995. From1996 to 1998 He was chair of the audience reserach division of the German Association of Communication Research (DGPuK). From 1998 to 2002 he was Vice-Chair of the DGPuK.

Emmanuel Ngwainmbi holds the Ph.D. in Human Communication Studies (1991) from Howard University. He has taught at George Washington, Howard, St. Thomas, Morgan State Universities, and other institutions of higher education. He was Director of International Programs and Head of the Department of Language, Literature & Communication at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, until 2006. He has also received awards in journalism and the social sciences from the Chinese Academy for Social Sciences, the Family Christian Association of America among others, for his contribution to the social sciences and cited by a Nobel Laureate, a Pulitzer Prize winner, African-American historians, Social Scientists, Africologists, Desmond Tutu, Molefi K Asante and Blyden Jackson. He has received awards in academics and education such as Departmental Teacher of the Year, Distinguished Professorship, and has been a three-time inductee in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Dr.Ngwainmbi lectures widely in the US, Europe, Asia and Africa. His writings have been described as “Powerful”, "bringing a breath of fresh air”, "intriguing", "mystical", "magical", and with "good riveting imagery". Prof. Ngwainmbi has been a commentator on Voice of America; BBC-Africa; West Africa Democracy Radio, and other radio and cable television stations in the US, Europe and Africa on the topic of developing countries. In 2006, he was invited by Emmy Award-winning broadcaster, Ed Gordon, to NPR to discuss African and African American relations after his groundbreaking, provocative article on intellectual disparities between African, Afro-American and other professors appeared in Black Issues in Higher Education. He has published twelve books and more than 200 articles, some of appear in specialized academic journals, magazines, and e-newspapers in Chinese (Mandarin), French, Spanish, Afrikaans, and German languages. His writings have been reviewed in more than 200 publications Publishing credits include Howard University Press, University of Yaounde Press, University Press of America, University ; Roman & Littlefield, Washington Review; Lynne Reiner, Rutledge, Sage, Greenwood, Malt House, Plain View Press, Brunswick, and among others. He is a member of some 12 international professional associations and serves on the Editorial of several peer-reviewed journals, including the JIC. He focuses on raising awareness regarding the ongoing worldwide discussion and debate on the important and imperative topics of globalization and multiculturalism and their impact on today’s society.
