Anti-Aging Impact Factor

Anti-aging can be a difficult topic to tackle: a war is currently being fought over the meaning of the term in research and medicine and as a brand for products in an energetic and often fraudulent market. Mentioning anti-aging medicine may also affect many readers, but I will try to put this in context. Anti-aging now has a fairly different set of common meanings and connotations, each of which is supported by a particular group or a free coalition of interests. Supporters of these groups have a way of immersing themselves in the fray without defining their terms, and this tends to confuse the reading of the surrounding debates for a newcomer. In the reputable medical community, anti-aging medicine means early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of age-related diseases. This is quite different from coping with the aging process itself and a wide range of strategies and therapies are currently available. Calorie restriction, for example, reduces the risk of suffering from a wide range of age-related conditions.
