Neurology case reports have a long experiences of transmitting important medical information across many generations for the development of patient care. Case reports provide much to the physician’s knowledge base from which treatment assumptions and ideas form. Case reports acknowledged to Neurology should make a extension to medical education and must have educational value or highlight the necessity for a change in clinical practice and diagnosis approaches. BMC Neurology will not examine case reports characterizing preventive or therapeutic interventions, as these generally require stronger indications. Possibly the same could be said of physicians, medicine, and the importance of case reports in moving the practice of neurology forward. In this Special Cases scientists present cases that provide glimpses into therapeutics, diagnosis, semiology, and pathophysiology of neurologic disease.
