Diabetic foot ulcer is a wound or an open sore that occurs with diabetes and is commonly located on the bottom of the foot. These are a common complication of poorly composed diabetes framing as a consequence of skin tissue breaking down and exposing the layers underneath. They are most common under your big toes and the balls of your feet, and they can affect your feet down to the bones. Patient education about foot hygiene, nail care and proper footwear is crucial to reducing the risk of an injury that can lead to ulcer formation.A provident physical examination, pier by mono filament testing for neuropathy and non invasive testing for arterial inadequacy, can identify patients at risk for foot ulcers and appropriately classify patients who already have ulcers or other diabetic foot complications.
