Socioeconomic status is a person or group's social position, or class. It is also calculated as a combination of education, income, and employment. In assessing the SES of a family, it analyses the household income, the education of earners, and the profession, as well as the total income, while only their own characteristics are measured for the SES of a person. Usually, the socioeconomic status is divided into three levels (high, middle, and low) to identify the three places in which a family or person may fall. Any or all of the three variables (income, education, and occupation) may be calculated when putting a family or person into one of these categories.
