Yeast-based products have long been recognized for their nutritional benefits in animal diets. Among these, Torula yeast stands out as a promising source of protein, vitamins and minerals. Torula yeast, also known as Candida utilis or Torulopsis utilis, is a non-pathogenic yeast that is widely used in animal feed formulations, particularly in monogastric animals like pigs. In recent years, there has been growing interest in understanding the amino acid utilization of Torula yeast in diverse formulations within the porcine gastrointestinal tract. This research aims to shed light on the intricate details of amino acid digestion and utilization from various Torula yeast-based feed formulations using an in vitro porcine gastrointestinal digestion model. Torula yeast is a versatile microorganism with the ability to grow on a wide range of carbon sources, making it a valuable ingredient in animal feed formulations.
