These strategies enable bacteria to neutralize antibiotics, rendering them ineffective. Factors such as overuse and misuse of antibiotics, inappropriate prescribing practices, and inadequate infection control in healthcare settings create a fertile ground for drug-resistant bacteria to flourish. The selective pressure exerted by these practices accelerates the evolution of resistance. The rise of drug-resistant bacteria has profound implications for patient care.
