We are pleased to bring you the second issue of 2020. Along with few original papers and review papers, for this issue we decided to acknowledge the contributions during this COVID-19 crisis.

We would like to appreciate your interest and supports towards the journal of phylogenetics and evolutionary biology. We understand the tough times that everyone is facing during this pandemic, but we assure you that we do our best to provide you the quality review process at a regular pace. With that in mind, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the journal editorial team who evaluate papers, manage the publication process and respond to authors.
