Epidemics, characterized by sudden outbreaks of infectious diseases within a specific population, demand urgent intervention to curb transmission and mitigate fatalities. In contrast, endemic diseases persist within populations at relatively stable levels, requiring long-term strategies for monitoring, treatment, and prevention. The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the challenges of managing a disease as it moves from an acute global emergency to an ongoing public health concern. Lessons from past epidemics, including influenza, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis, demonstrate the importance of robust healthcare infrastructure, equitable access to medical resources, and strong public health policies in controlling the spread of diseases over time. As societies shift their focus from crisis response to sustainable management, governments must balance economic recovery, public health measures, and social adaptation to new health realities. The evolving landscape of infectious diseases requires a proactive approach that integrates scientific advancements, community engagement, and global cooperation to build resilience against future health threats [1].
