This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the strategies and best practices for protecting radiation oncology practices from cyber security attacks. It explores the unique challenges and vulnerabilities specific to this field, such as the interconnectedness of treatment planning systems, electronic medical records, and medical devices. The paper discusses the potential consequences of cyber threats and emphasizes the importance of proactive risk assessment and mitigation.

This article outlines practical steps that organizations can take to mitigate cyber security attacks and strengthen their overall security posture. Enforce strong access controls to restrict user privileges and limit access to sensitive data and systems on a need-to-know basis.
