Description

Albuterol sulphate is also known as ethanolamine sulphate salt. It is derived from the Greek word "albutreol." Albuterol belongs to a class of drugs known as bronchodilators. Albuterol is a combination of racemic mixtures of R (-) and S (+) stereoisomers. It was taken orally and contains 4.8 mg of albuterol sulphate as well as inactive ingredients such as sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, anhydrous lactose, and hypromellose in small amounts. Albuterol sulphate belongs to a class of drugs known as Beta-2 Agonists. It may be used in combination with other drugs. Albuterol sulphate is used to treat the symptoms of bronchospasm. It is safe to use, as it doesn’t contain any steroids and relaxes the smooth muscles in the airways, which permits air to stream in and out of the lungs more easily, therefore helping to breath easily. An overdose of this medicine may cause paradoxical bronchospasm, which makes your breathing difficult. This condition is life-threatening and one should consult a doctor if they have cough, difficulty in breathing, or wheezing while using this medicine. Adults should take two doses for every 4-6 hours, and children under 4 years of age should take one dose. Stopping the medication may cause an increase in asthma attacks and lead to potential health consequences.

Albuterol, which is also known as salbutamol, is used to cure health problems like wheeziness and inability to breath caused by breathing difficulties such as asthma. It is a rapid-relief drug. It was taken in the form of inhalation. Before using this medication, check whether the product is clear and colourless to light yellow. If it is in the form of precipitation, do not use the liquid. Albuterol should be used with a nebulizer and sterile saline. Shake the nebulizers gently before use to mix the contents of the solution. Do not swallow or inject the solution directly without a nebulizer. After usage, clean the nebulizer in order to prevent infections. The dosage was prescribed based on the medical condition, age, weight and response to treatment.

Side effects of excessive albuterol use include dry mouth, tremors, chest pain, fast heartbeats, nausea and general ill feeling, seizure, feeling light-headed, or fainting. Rinse your eyes with water, if this medicine gets into your eyes. People who are suffering from high blood pressure, seizures, cardiovascular disease, and an overactive thyroid should not use albuterol sulphate. In rare cases, it causes paradoxical bronchospasm.

You may be able to reduce the side effects of albuterol, by taking it in the correct way as prescribed by the doctor. It should be taken with a metered-dose inhaler. Change the delivery method. It’s better to deliver the drug through an inhaler than through pills or injections as it reduces the side effects. People who are suffering with asthma should take the dose in a limited quantity and it should not be used frequently. Gradually decrease the dose of the albuterol. Try to take one pill instead of two pills. The patients will get good relief from the side effects. In case of severe side effects, one should consult the doctor immediately.
