The administration of oral health treatment to expectant mothers is hampered by dentist because of poor understanding of advantages of such therapies, but also their safety. Aspects related to the issue were recognized, as well as a route for achieving cultural shift that shall solve the problem. Pregnancy raises the chance of the woman acquiring oral illness, such as gum diseases and cavities. The physical, biochemical, and nutritional alterations the expectant mothers go through throughout gestation contribute towards this heightened vulnerability. Consequently, expectant mothers may need additional regular or essential dental healthcare coverage than non-pregnant people. The dentist has a significant chance to teach potential moms about the kid's dental healthcare needs throughout gestation, which might have a beneficial impact on the kid's dental health. According to the poll, 72 percent of participants had encounters with expectant mothers who had dental crises. Despite the fact that 74 percent of dentists indicated they do a complete oral health check through gestation, less than 50% claimed they would frequently give emergency medical assistance to expectant mothers, such as extractions, pulpotomy, and other invasive operations. Before they could give care, some said they needed medical approval from client's medical practitioner. Radiographs were taken as part of this process. There is clearly a gap between maternal oral health care demands of expectant mothers and the prenatal dental treatments given by dental practitioners. When dental condition of expectant mother is improved, there is a chance that the child's oral health will be better as well. Prenatal healthcare must undergo a cultural shift among dentists and general medical practitioners so that oral health is regularly integrated into general healthcare for expectant mothers. Ultimately, further research is required to determine the scope of advantages associated with prenatal dental healthcare. Thus providing extra benefit of assistance both dentists and general medical practitioners in recognizing the significance of prenatal dental care and in developing and using community-based training courses. To meet the requirements of expectant mothers, coordination amongst dentists and general medical practitioners is critical. An interdisciplinary project which can result in a stronger society since increased dental health in the parents corresponds with increased dental health in the kids.
