The concept of the circular economy offers a promising framework to address these challenges, emphasizing the reduction, reuse, and recycling of resources. This article delves into the repercussions of healthcare waste on sustainability within the context of the circular economy, exploring current practices, emerging innovations, and the imperative for transformative action [1]. The magnitude of healthcare waste is staggering, with estimates suggesting that the sector contributes a substantial portion to overall waste generation globally. From single-use plastics to hazardous materials, the diverse nature of healthcare waste presents multifaceted environmental risks. Improper disposal can contaminate soil, waterways, and air, posing health hazards to both human and ecological systems.
