Introduction

Following adverse events—such as accidents, natural disasters, or personal violence—many people experience a range of distressing symptoms that can interfere with daily functioning and overall quality of life. Adverse events such as natural disasters, serious accidents, violent encounters, or the sudden loss of a loved one can leave survivors grappling with overwhelming feelings of fear, helplessness, and grief [1]. These experiences can lead to a range of distressing symptoms, including anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and difficulty in forming relationships. Trauma counselling plays a critical role in supporting recovery and fostering resilience in individuals affected by such experiences. This specialized form of therapy focuses on helping individuals process their traumatic experiences, develop coping strategies, and rebuild their lives. By understanding the significance of trauma counselling, we can better appreciate its transformative potential in facilitating healing and promoting mental wellness.
