Zirconia, also known as zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), is a white crystalline oxide of zirconium. It occurs naturally as a mineral called baddeleyite, but it is primarily produced synthetically for industrial use. Zirconia exhibits unique characteristics that make it highly desirable for various applications.
