I. Isolation and structure elucidation of secondary metabolites from plants:
Terpenes: Sesquiterpene lactones, iridoids, diterpenes, monoterpene glucosides, triterpenic acids etc.
Phenolic compounds: flavonoids, phenylethanoid glycosides, simple phenols, lignans, catechins, depsides, proanthocyanidin glycosides, naphthodianthrones, quinones etc.
Essential oils - volatile constituents
II. Biological activities
Antibacteriophage, antimicrobial activities.
Cytotoxicity, antioxidant/antiinflammatory.
Tyrosinase inhibition.
III. History of Pharmacy, with emphasis on Greek classic, Roman/hellenistic and Byzantine periods.
