Abstract :

Acupuncture: An Art of Healing is a single line of therapy for prevention, prophylaxis as well as healing methodology for Primary and Secondary Female Infertility. Infertility primarily refers to the biological inability of a person to contribute to conception. Philosophically it is an inability to procreate a unique soul. And in TCM or Acupuncture point of view infertility is an inability to conceive due to lack or imbalance in Kidney essence. In TCM, reproductive system of human beings is mainly controlled by kidneys (the vital energy of the kidney). Infertility affects one in seven to ten couples in the world. Traditional Chinese medicine has been used to address infertility for thousands of years. Western medicine has in the last decade recognized TCM as a powerful complementary treatment to incorporate with assisted reproductive techniques. TCM is now prevalent and widely used as a sole treatment for infertility, hormonal imbalance and menstrual disorders among numerous conditions. In TCM the causes may be one among the following: Constitutional weakness: Kidney essence Overwork: Ki Yin Excess physical activity: spleen & ki Yang Excess sex activity: deficiency Kidney, chong & ren Cold invasion; young females Diet: Cold / iced foods/ greasy/ dairy-dampness lower burner, block fallopian tubes. ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Qi Stagnation, blood stasis ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Accumulation of cold, blood stasis ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Accumulation of heat blood stasis ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Qi and blood vacuity, blood stasis ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Kidney vacuity; blood stasis ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Blood stasis is the primary disease mechanism, often termed as cold uterus Objectives: 1. To provide drugless, harmless treatment. 2. To provide complete healing treatment. 3. The main emphasis given to alleviate drug dependence.

Sumita Satarkar has completed her PhD from Open International University for Complementary Medicine, Colombo and doing another Doctorate in Integrative Medicine at International Quantum University of Integrative Medicine, USA. She has presented more than 50 papers in national and international conferences in India and overseas
