Diabetes mellitus is now ranked 5th leading cause of death in Taiwan. Diabetic neuropathy was the most common complication to seriously degrade health and quality of life of patients. The WHO reported that some diseases have been treated effectively by acupuncture. A systematic review was performed, keywords including: acupuncture, Diabetes mellitus, and Neuropathy were used to query electronic databases, including PubMed, Medline, Google, Embase and China Academic Journals. All of the articles published between 1946 and 2017 were extracted for analysis. Moreover, suitable English keywords were executed query via PubMed to meet the inclusion criteria as follows: the participants included patients with diabetes mellitus; received treatment of acupuncture; randomized controlled trial; and Jadad Quality Score>2 points. We excluded the review article, cases reports, non-Chinese or English literatures, and non-RCT. Finally, we survey three randomized controlled clinical trials after excluding 330 from 333 papers since the best evidence found was categorized according to the Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine into five levels of evidence (1ΓΆΒ?Β?5) by two reviewers and one nurse familiar with Traditional Chinese Medicine. The results indicated that diabetic neuropathy was without the age and gender limit so that acupuncture was suggested to speed nerve conduction velocity, enhance life of quality, and relieve pain for all patients
