Abstract :

The breast augmentation is one of the most common procedures in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. This presentation shows the progressive evolution of the author�s experience in the breast augmentation surgery focusing in seven aspects that let him have developed a correct approach and get consistent results in this procedure. The breast augmentation could be a very difficult surgery with inconsistent results if the planning of the surgery doesn�t asses the important aspects of the breast. The review of literature, discussion with experienced surgeons, meetings and courses helped the author to get consistent results changing various aspects including adequate breast measuring, the incorporation of imaging, choose the best implant, the correct incision and its placement, choosing the correct pocket, avoid common mistakes and personal thoughts in breast lifting with implants, breast fat grafting. Every aspect covered is how the author approaches a patient based on his experience and data collected over 10 years in the field, most surgeons based on their own experience must have different ideas and approaches in breast augmentation, this work main objective is to present and discuss the author�s personal approach in breast augmentation.

Marcelo Uriarte Mayorga studied at the Universidad Mayor de San Andres and completed his specialty at Plastic surgery at the Jalisco Institute of Reconstructive Surgery of Guadalajara, Mexico under the mentorship of Dr. Jose Guerrerosantos, Plastic Surgeon recognized for his brilliant trajectory and contribution. He is a member of the Bolivian Society of Plastic Surgery, ISAPS, International Member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons ASPS and American Society of Plastic Surgeons ASAPS and FILACP.
