The basic concept of stem cells is an age old concept described for the first time in Ayurvedic Classics. While describing about Organogenesis acharyas like Susrutha, Vagbhata and Haritha gave vivid description of today?s stem cell theory. The present poster focuses on the Ayurvedic conceptual basis of stem cell theory. Also latest research on haemopoietic cells giving rise to liver epithelium strengthens the concept of ayurveda that rakta evolves into liver and spleen. The aim of the poster is to grab the attention of the scholarly world regarding Ayurvedic concept of Stem cell theory and support further research.
Dr. Vidya Rani.S is a first year PG scholar of prasuti and stree roga department in Dr.BRKR govt Ayurvedic College, Hyderabad, AP. She is University 3 rd topper of Dr NTR University of Health sciences in BAMS. She regularly attends s eminars conducted by ISOPARB of Hyderabad chapter. Dr. Sindhura is a PG scholar of department of prasuti and stree roga in Dr BRKR Govt Ayurvedic College, Hyderabad. She is a Gold medallist in her BAMS. Her articles on NASYA and AYURVEDIC ONCOLOGY are published in college magazines. Her abstract on DIABETIC NUEROPATHY is published in book of Global ayurveda Festival. She recently presented a paper on Role of matra vasti in common gynaecological disorders in National conference on Panchakarma
