Immunoglobulins class E (IgE) measurement is the basics of current allergy diagnostics. Detection of free, specific to different allergens, IgE (sIgE) in serums and sIgE covering effector skin cells (prick skin tests), is the most common method used in allergy clinics all over the world. These methods are sufficient in most cases, but sometimes results of tests do not match patients' symptoms or come out negative in allergic people. This phenomenon also applies to allergic rhinitis, which is a common allergic disease that affects 20-30% of people all over the world. To solve the problem, investigations have been focused on the affected tissue inflammation process, including local airway IgE production measurement. Intensive studies were initiated at the end of the first decade of the XXI century by Carmen Rondon [Rondon C. 2007, Rondon C. 2008], An exploring the topic further and aimed at improving known methods are still ongoing and are currently in their early stage. The study was performed using nasal lavage method. SIgE was detected in healthy and allergic people. Then a comparison of results with serum sIgE in different groups of patients was performed. Later, a modification of the method was applied. Nasal cavity washing was performed using purified water. The sodium lavage concentration was then established in all probes. As the sodium freely flows from the patient’s serum to nasal secretion, the dilution rate was calculated and the real sIgE nasal concentration was shown. The comparison of results in different groups of patients was performed. Molecular diagnostics (detection of sIgE to individual proteins of different allergens such as pollens, and house dust mites) was also undertaken. The specificity, sensitivity, and accuracy of the method were calculated.
