Abstract :

Physicians, nurses, and allied professionals typically receive no professional training in the area of transgender health. Yet, as we see more transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in our practices, it is critical that we are informed and culturally competent. This fast-paced hour will update professionals in this important area of medicine ΓΆΒ?Β? providing the basics that will allow clinicians to interact more effectively with this growing population. Additionally, this presentation will help participants learn how to make their practices more trans-friendly. She is a board certified family doctor who has worked with the transgender community for nearly 20 years, with clients ranging in age from 6 to 83. Over the last two years, she has added electrolysis, laser hair removal, Botox and dermal fillers, microneedling and cryolipolysis. All of these procedures can be used to help transgender individuals to achieve their gender-related goals.
