Abstract :

It is claimed by the people and also believed that Ayurveda is the oldest medical science of the world. Present day, ignorance of the people towards their healthy status, ingestion of fast food, non-observance of dietetic rules, skipping meals, late night dinners, etc., has been increased. Due to such unhealthy lifestyle people are vulnerable to various skin disorders. Skin disorder is not always painful to the body but it generates pain in the mind of a person who is suffering. Every individual tries to maintain his dignity in the society but along with skin problem individual feels embarrassed in every social activity. For such people, Ayurveda is one of the authentic sciences which creates hope for the betterment. Various drugs and their formulations mentioned in Ayurveda are proved to be very potent and effective by their outstanding clinical results. Of these drugs, Aragvadha is an ancient Indian herb called the miracle drug for skin disorders. Word ?Aragvadha? means the one who helps to destroy diseases. Aragvadha is useful in skin disorders both internally and externally. Aragvadha has ability to give symptomatic relief as well as its tendency to eliminate deep rooted disease. With the review of previous researches and observations in the clinical practice, the tremendous results are seen in majority of the patients that draw an inference that Aragvadha is very effective drug in various skin disorders. Modern researches have also proved its antimicrobial and antifungal activity. Detail documentation will be provided in the main course of paper.

Biography :

Abhijeet Kumbhar has completed his B.A.M.S. graduation from MUHS University, Nashik (Maharashtra). He is M.D. (Samhita) scholar in Department of Maulika Siddhanta and Samhita, National Institute of Ayurveda Jaipur. He is the volunteer of medicinal camps conducted by National Institute of Ayurveda Jaipur with the collaboration of Bhartiya Nirman Jansuchana Abhiyana to generate awareness about health and to make people familiar to Ayurveda. He is doing survey study of allergic diseases over the Rajasthan state to evaluate the incidence and prevalence of allergies in Rajasthan. He strongly believes in practical utility of clinical principles of Ayurveda.
