Abstract :

Artificial intelligence is an overhyped and misunderstood concept overutilized in general conversation, but particularly in healthcare. This keynote will review the hype versus the hope of AI as it applies to healthcare, particularly as it applies to data mining, imaging, ambient intelligence of facilities, augmented intelligence of clinical decision support. It will review the role of humans in the brave new world of artificial intelligence as it applies to healthcare and glimpse at the future of healthcare, including the potential unintended consequences, as well as possible solutions to mitigate adverse outcomes.
