Abstract :

The main object of the study was to asses QOL of osteoporotic patients in a clinical setting in a clinic at Hyderabad India. QOL profiles were determined using QUALEFFO-41 Questionnaire (a quality of life questionnaire in patients with vertebral fractures) the scale has 5 domains one domain about pain, three domain about physical function, one domain about leisure and social activities, one domain about general health perception and one domain about mental function. The study was conducted on convenient samples 50 people. Instruments was administered to the patients by researcher* whose T score was below -2.5. The responses were noted and the data were analyzed using windows XL. Correlation and regression analyses were conducted using pain, physical function leisure and social activities, general health perception and mental function as independent variables and using health status as dependent variables. Average age of patients was 40yrs. Qualification of the patients ranged from high school to Ph.D?s. Better correlation was obtained among clinical outcomes and QOL in the of T values -2.5-3.5.

V. Asha Jyothi is presently working for Shadan Women?s College of Pharmacy, Hyderabad, as Head of Pharmacology Division. She is perusing part time Ph.D under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. Her specialization is Pharmacology. She completed M.Pharmacy (Pharmacology) in Sri Padmavati Mahila Vishvavidayalayam, Tirupati in distinction. She qualified in the year 2005 with a percentile of 92.08. She graduated with bachelor?s degree B.Pharmacy from Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy Mahavidaylaya in 2003, in distinction. she has 4 international publications to her credit.
