Abstract :

DNA profiling is widely accepted technique used for personal identification, by forensic scientist all over the world. Chimerism generates a potential challenge for correct identification of an individual because recipient acquires donors profile after allogenic bone marrow transplantation. We conducted a study on 15 different patients, who underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. We observed that not only blood but buccal swab and hair follicle of patients also converted into complete donor type. This study undermine the reliability of hair as a source of recipient own profile.
