Abstract :

In this work, the following are addressed, in regard to narratives of behaviour, of actions and of activities: security, trust, identity, opportunities and challenges of Big Data. The main orientation is towards foundational aspects, i.e. methodology and its implementation. Briefly, predictive policing is reviewed. A small case study of narrative of behaviour is carried out with Twitter. This relates to the well-reputed entertainment and social media individual, Stephen Fry. Then there is the most relevant work for Big Data and security applications in social science and in related domains, that is motivated by Bernard Harcourt's legal and social analytics. Associated with this recently published book, F. Murtagh, Data Science Foundations: Geometry and Topology of Complex Hierarchic Systems and Big Data Analytics, Chapman & Hall/CRC Press, 2017, there is the following: a case study, Twitter-based, on the tracking of narratives of behaviour, and in regard to graphically and through visualization, as well as using statistical infererence, of impact and effect of actions and activities.
