Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a common cutaneous malignancy, frequently occurring in exposed areas and elderly. Several therapeutic modalities are available to treat these tumors. Satisfactory result have been reported, combination of cryotherapy (cryo) and topical 5-fluorouracil (5FU) for BCC. The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of combination cryo and topical 5FU in BCC patients. We describe four patients with BCC treated with Cryo and 5FU. Intervention therapy included combined weekly regimen of cryo followed by 3 days, twice daily 5FU application for four successive days. Clinical improvement was assessed with physical examination, dermoscopy and skin biopsy. Four patients achieved complete response with minimal side effects, good cosmetic outcome and relatively short duration of treatment. Combination of cryo and 5FU offers a new effective modality for treatment of BCC.
