Statement of the Problem: Many women are unhappy with the shape and thickness of their eyebrows. They use various beauty techniques to give the effect of fuller, shapelier eyebrows yet none of these techniques can achieve a permanent result. Enhancing eyebrows using permanent makeup has been limited to filling and adding to the eyebrow, as substantial alteration to its shape and location would require endless removal of outlying hair by the client. Until now, the only solution to eyebrow relocation has been cosmetic surgery. However, a novel combination of two well- established techniques has provided a permanent solution. This discussion describes a non-surgical technique to achieving beautifully shaped eyebrows free of these constraints. Methodology & Approach: Aprils Touch and Peach Clinics have combined the techniques of permanent makeup and permanent hair removal in a process to achieve lasting, naturally-shaped eyebrows. Eyebrows are important in the perception of gender. Men have thicker brows and they are usually straighter with less defined edges. To soften and feminize the face, the eyebrow needs soft curves rather than sharp corners. Neatly shaped and symmetrical eyebrows make the face look more feminine. After determining the exact shape for the revised eyebrow, galvanic electrolysis is used to permanently remove all eyebrow hair outside this area. Galvanic electrolysis has been in use for over 140 years and remains the only method permitted to call itself ?¢????permanent?¢??? by the US FDA. The accuracy of galvanic electrolysis and its ability to target individual hairs means eyebrow shaping can occur with absolute precision. Aprils Touch MICROFEMINIZATION???® technique is then used to recreate the brow in detail defining, shaping and heightening the eyebrow to a soft feminine appearance. MICROFEMINIZATION???® is a unique method of skin pigmentation which was specifically developed to feminize the features of the face. Findings: Using this technique, Aprils Touch and Peach Clinics have been able to provide a permanent and natural looking solution to full and shapely eyebrows. Whilst this technique has been developed to enhance the perception of femininity in transgender women, it has general application to all women and can also be applied to reshaping the forehead hairline.
