This study is conducted definitively in order to identify the effect of taking Child Health and Diseases Nursing Class on studentsâ?? tendency to like children and empathetic issues. This study is realized with students who do not take child class (2nd graders) and who do take the class (3rd graders). Data is collected through â??Barnett Liking of Children Scaleâ? (BLoCS) and Emphatic Tendency Scale (ETS). Students are voluntarily included to this study. Of 240 students included to this study, 38,3% of them are in second grade, 61,7% of them are in third grade. 75% of students are female and age average is 20.99, sibling number average is 2.53. BLoCS average point is 83.86 and ETS average is found as 71.25 and it is found out that there is statistically significant difference between two scales (p<0.001). It is identified that taking the class of Child Health and Diseases Nursing does not affect the scores of BLoCS and ETS. There is significant relation with ETS and choosing the profession willingly, liking the profession, participating in child raising process and playing with children. There is significant relation with BLoCS and enjoying nursing profession, liking children, willingness to work in childrenâ??s unit and participation in child raising process. As a result, it is found out that BLoCS and ETS scores have effect on each other and taking the class of Child Health and Diseases Nursing does not have any effect.
