Abstract :

Homoeopathy is an alternative system of medicine discovered by German physician Samuel Hahnemann in 1796. It has been used by several people for various health conditions globally for more than last 200 years. In India, homoeopathy is considered as a major system of alternative medicine. Homoeopathy is found effective in various medical conditions including Pyuria. Pyuria is condition in which pus cells are found in urine. Homoeopathy is very useful for reducing pus cells and homeopathically potentized Conium maculatum (Hemlock) is an important remedy commonly used for reducing pyuria. The aim was to reduce the amount pus cells found in urine using Conium maculatum 200 C. A small N design and purposive sampling with 5 cases diagnosed as pyuria. Personal Data Schedule and ICD-10 Criteria for Pyuria was used. Potentized homoeopathic medicine, Conium Maculatum 200th potency is used. The statistical analyses were done using non-parametric tests. There is significant preand post-difference has been identified. Homoeopathic potency, Conium Maculatum 200 C is effective in reducing the increased level of pus cells found in urine samples.
