Abstract :

This research study focused on the development, validation and effectiveness of the Community Health Nursing Workbook. It sought to identify the difference in the mean gain scores between the experimental and controlled groups. Descriptive�normative surveys were utilized in determining the content of the workbook; thus, this study used a research and development design and to determine the effectiveness of the CHN Workbook in teaching Community Health Nursing, the pre-test and the post test was conducted. The validators rated the CHN Workbook as highly appropriate, highly comprehensive and highly usable. Other results also revealed that the enumerated topics in the CHN Workbook are highly difficult. The clinical Instructors perceived that the given topics are extremely needed; therefore, these topics should be included in the CHN. The T-test result showed that there is significant improvement in learning Community Health Nursing among the student nurses who used the CHN Workbook than those who did not use the CHN Workbook. Based on the findings, the researcher has drawn out the following conclusions: the topics in Community Health Nursing are highly difficult and this necessitated the development of the CHN Workbook.
