In recent years plenty of research has been conducted in the aerospace industry towards increasing the use of electrically-powered equipment. The pneumatic and hydraulic actuators have been supplanted with the electro mechanical actuators . As these actuators make the hydraulic systems obsolete which makes the aircraft much heavier . Also these EMAs are much more efficient and comes with less maintenance and enhanced performance of the control valves . The EMAs do not require recalibration over time, once calibrated the actuators can operate for a long period of time without adjustments. With the use of EMAs makes the aircraft wings less complex structurally as well as lighter ,hence reducing the camber of the airfoil.
