Lean is a leadership philosophy points at increasing value for end uses by controlling waste. It is effective approach for executive nurse leader to improve quality and control costs. However, there must be specific lean leadership skills, knowledge about leadership requirements for successful lean implementation. Lean has been used successfully in manufacturing and other industries to improve processes, increase end user satisfaction reduce costs and reduce waste. This presentation will provide the executive nurse leaders with a practical guidance with which lean can be used successfully.
