Forensic nursing is a nursing specialty that provides services to a variety of patient populations who have experienced violence, rape, abuse and neglect, sudden or unexpected death, and trauma. In forensic cases, nurses are the first persons in a medical team to see the victims or suspects, and care required by these patients is different. In many countries this skills and practises provide by forensic nursing (death investigator, sexual assault nurse, criminal nurse etc.) but in Turkey, this branch is a new discipline and is not accepted by health professionals, forensic scientists and law enforcement unit. We aimed to determine what is happening on the development of forensic nursing in Turkey.
