Modern management of HEART FAILURE in 2022 now comprises of “FOUNDATIONAL THERAPIES” common to most HF patients despite the diverse underlying aetiologies. Additional “SPECIFIC THERAPIES” directed at the underlying aetiology are also needed which are different in different HF patients. Recent evolution of knowledge and research has produced effective, evidence based therapies which not only reduce the morbidity but significantly decrease the mortality in HF patients – the “LIFESAVERS” This has led to updating of International HF guidelines. This presentation summarises this evidence and highlights the 2022 “LIFESAVERS” which form the FOUNDATIONAL THERAPIES IN HEART FAILURE.
Alnoor Abdulla is a Cardiologist, with three decades of success, who currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia. He was born in Tanzania, East Africa. He earned his medical degree in 1975 from the University of British Columbia. A rotating internship, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine, was done at St. Paul’s Hospital (UBC), Vancouver. He went on to complete fellowship training in Invasive and Nuclear Cardiology with the University of California and then the University of Southern California.
