Introduction: Developments in maternity nursing are taking place in the context of growing demands for accessible and affordable high-quality care, and the need for improved access to care and universal coverage (WHO 2011). The overall aim for future plan is to: ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Provision of high quality maternity services that pregnancy is a powerful motivator for change. ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Promotes pregnancy and childbirth as an event of social and emotional significance where women and their families are managed with dignity and respect. ΓΆΒ?ΒΆ Produce teaching, research and updated services for scientific, technological and academic development through application of critical thinking and advances clinical excellence, as the standard of care for women.
