As like finger prints, handwriting is a unique and individual characteristic of a person. Natural variation in handwriting is most important criteria of handwriting analysis. By analyzing certain characteristics of handwriting it can be established that whether the handwriting belongs to male or female. Handwriting is classified into macro and micro features and these characteristic can be a discriminating power for handwriting identification. Hand writing is done by brain hence it is called as brain writing. With the increasing use of documents in day to day life, its misuse has also been increased to the highest level. When it comes to the criminal justice system, the false or forged document becomes a questioned document. Handwriting is one of the important evidences which is examined in the questioned document for its authentication by studying and examining the handwriting of suspected and the victim. Handwriting is said to be the brain writing, so the thinking of a male differs vastly from the female due to hormonal changes and differences in their physiology which not only affect their neuromotor functioning but also their way of thinking. So handwriting which is observed during examination shows discriminatory features in case of a male and female. This study not only helps in predicting the gender of the writer but also help in identifying the culprit from the suspects and presenting a strong evidence in the court of law.
