Abstract :

The inflammatory process is a natural response of the organism to harmful stimuli, however, when it is persistent, it could cause severe pathologies. In the market, there are many anti-inflammatory agents, but a high percentage of these present low efficacy and multiple secondary effects. Therefore, there is the need to find new, more effective and safe therapeutic alternatives to treat the clinical conditions associated with inflammatory processes. The natural products have been a source of new molecules in the discovery of modern drugs. In this work we evaluated the anti-inflammatory activity in vivo of the total ethanolic extract from the leaves of Mammea Americana.
