Innovation is one of the most important elements in research endeavor. Given the complexity involved in challenging scaffold of molecules of pharmaceutical significance, one has to engage in chemistry innovation pertinent to the synthesis of medicines. Process research pertaining to drug synthesis at generic pharmaceutical industry imposes a great challenge due to cut throat competition. Few case studies involving innovation based on fundamental understanding of chemistry will be presented.
Rakeshwar Bandichhor holds a doctorate in Chemistry from University of Lucknow, India and University of Regensburg, Germany. He has worked as Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Regensburg, Germany, Roy & Diana Vegelos Laboratories for Advanced Science & Technology, University of Pennsylvania and postdoctoral research associate at Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University. He has more than 100 papers including patents and book chapters published/accepted in various international journals.
