Abstract :

Knot theory has been studied in mathematics over 100 years ago. Due to advances in science and technology, gradually from about 30 years ago, knot theory has been discussed in relation to various science including physics, chemistry and biology. In this talk, in addition to explaining what kind of study is mathematical knot theory and how knot theory is related to elementary particule theory, some of recent scientific applications of knot theory are explained.
