Abstract :

Physiologic changes in a woman�s life, such as childbirth, weight fluctuations, hormonal changes due to aging and menopause, may alter the laxity of the vaginal canal, damage the pelvic floor and devitalize the mucosal tone of the vaginal wall. These events often lead to the development of genitourinary conditions such as stress urinary incontinence, vaginal atrophy, dryness and physiologic distress affecting a woman�s quality of life, self-confidence, and sexuality. Various treatment modalities were available to manage these indications, varying from invasive vaginal surgery to more benign treatments like topical vaginal hormonal gels or hormone-replacement therapy. Cosmetic gynecology is the latest revolution in the aesthetic field that changes female external genitalia appearance to look younger and more natural. These are procedures which are cosmetic in nature and some medically necessary to be performed. They are done to either boost up the function or to improve the appearance or both. A new trend gaining momentum is the advent of energy-based device laser for vaginal rejuvenation that applies thermal energy to the various layers of the vaginal tissue, stimulating collagen regeneration contracture of elastin fibers, neovascularization, and improved vaginal lubrication. Laser is widely and successfully used for treatments in dermatology and aesthetic medicine. Thus, their application in the vaginal canal for feminine rejuvenation simply represents an expansion of therapeutic indications and hallmarks their versatility and the reactivity of biologic tissues to the beneficial effects of their mechanism of action.

Biography :

Deepa Ganesh is a well-known Cosmetic Gynecologist and Vaginal Laser Specialist from India. She is also an Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Gynecologist. She is the Founder Director of DG Laser and Cosmetic Gynecology Clinic and Consultant at various hospitals. She has been a prominent person in this field for 16 years, consulting and satisfying the needs of thousands of patients with compassion and moral support. She is the first Indian Gynecologist to get certified in Cosmetic Gynecology, trained under Dr. David Matlock and Dr. Adam Ostrzenski, USA. She is also an Associate of the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of America. She is a pioneer in bringing this field to India and the first and only certified provider of G-Shot (G-spot Augmentation) in India.
