Gold calcium utilizing the shell snail golden Pomaceae canaliculata L. as anti-hypocalcemia drug in bovine

Golden snail (Pomaceae canaliculata L.) was pest caused harvest farmer’s rice in Indonesia. Meanwhile, husbandry located in Enrekang is a big milk production territory of South Sulawesi have problem against some bovine illness calcium deficiencies after childbirth. The shell is known to high content of calcium can be apply as source calcium, so interesting to shell utilizing snail golden as a source of calcium and to eradicate plant pest. This research was performed experimentally by utilizing golden snail has taken, shell is then washed and clean and sterilized. Next, the shell snail golden is soaked in lemon acid. Then the shells are crushed until it resembles crumbs. Existing flour then analyzed the content of calcium with spectrophotometry, then testing done on the cow before partus to prevent the occurrence of hypocalcemia. The results showed that snail golden can be utilized as anti-hypocalcemia drugs to prevent the occurrence of hypocalcemia calcium deficiencies as well as answering the question of plant pest which damage crops farmers.
