Abstract :

In the University of Mount Unions Bacholer of Nursing Program we offer a unique Labroatory compentent to our Pharmacology course. We designed the lab component to incorporate skills necessary to prepare nursing students for safe administration of medications. The lab portion of the course includes self-evaluation of math aptitude, skill preparation, and dosage calculation to facilitate accuracy when preparing medications for adult patients. Weekly activites are highly emphaized around problem based learning and simulations. The course better prepares student nurses for medication administration starting their very first clinical experience as Sophomores.
