Introduction: Recently, mammary prosthesis for the cosmetic purposes or breast reconstruction after breast cancer tends to increase. However, a variety of complications from earlier period due to mammary prosthesis has also been reported. But, there are few reports of mammary prosthesis complications after a lapse of more than 10 years after operation. Material & Method: This time, I have experienced five patients who were operated a long period ago (average 22.6 years) and who were also required the extraction of mammary prosthesis. Results: All the five patients have been going smoothly without complications and are satisfied with their results. Discussion: In addition to mammary augmentation for cosmetic purposes, mammary prosthesis after breast cancer resection is became insurance adaptation in Japan. Mammary augmentation by mammary prosthesis can be considered to increase in the future. I report the task and countermeasure of mammary prosthesis, added to the discussion.
